Motto

French schools do not have a specific pledge of allegiance. Instead, they focus on teaching the principles of the French Republic, including liberty, equality, and fraternity.

The motto “Libert√©, Egalit√©, Fraternit√©” is a legacy of the Age of Enlightenment and first appeared during the French Revolution. It was written into the 1958 Constitution and is part of the French national heritage.
